SURVEY: 72% Of Renters List Home Ownership As A Top Priority
“Despite the economic setbacks Americans have experienced in today’s current climate, it is clear that a strong majority still believe in home ownership and aspire to own a home.”
According to the 2011 National Housing Pulse Survey released by the National Association of Realtors (NAR):
- 72 percent of renters list home ownerships as a top priority for their future
- That 72 percent is up from 63 percent in 2010
- Seven out of ten American agree that buying a home is a solid financial decision
- Two thirds of the respondents feel now is a great time to purchase a home
- Survey respondents cited stability and safety, followed by building equity, as the top two motivators for buying a home
NAR President Ron Phipps commented, “despite the economic setbacks Americans have experienced in today’s current climate, it is clear that a strong majority still believe in home ownership and aspire to own a home.”
